I am writing most of my stress management information on this website:

Come on over and visit!

-My sister sent me information today that I think is invaluable. I was aware of this technique before, but it never hurts to refresh our memory. I thought it might be important to share as one never knows what’s coming next!

“Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, this article seemed to be in order. Without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.”

“However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously.”

“A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep
And prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.
A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let up
Until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.”

” Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating.”

“The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.”

“Tell as many other people as possible about this, it could save their lives!”

(From Health Cares, Rochester General Hospital via Chapter 240s newsletter)

After reading the newspaper, news on the web, magazines, and so forth, I need to take
a breath and relax myself!

So much waste, so much dwelling on horrible incidents and potential disasters.
So right now, and I hope you join me, I am going to take in a few deep, mindful breaths.

As I do so, I am going to visualize all the trauma, all that which I CANNOT do anything about, leaving with my exhalation. This is not to “deny” problems, but to attend to
my own well-being. For if I am to do ANYTHING about ANYTHING, I must empower myself with positive thoughts and strong intellect.

In breathing my inhalation I think about drawing in fresh oxygen, getting it to my brain (which needs 50% more to think optimally), and regenerating my spirit and my body.

In breathing out I am letting negativity push out down my arms and through my fingertips, and I am releasing in order to think in more positive terms. That will enable me to “handle” what is happening in MY WORLD….and to touch, what I am able, in the world of others.

Respect yourself and honor your life.

Another few minutes of mindful breathing and I am up from the computer and out to accomplish a few things, and enjoy the moments of my life. I hope you do the same.

We’re alive and we certainly aren’t bored!

I do not revel in pronouncing someone has died. I am mentioning it for a reason.
The gentleman, Billy Mays was fifty years old. I saw a news broadcast in which he was telling about a rough airplane ride, and how he’d hit his head very hard. He was in good spirits, even saying he had a hard head, with a big smile.

When his wife found him it was assumed perhaps the head was injured seriously and that caused his death. Not so!

It was heart disease – a clogged artery. Obviously no one knew. Think about it. If you are even a bit overweight, or you eat high fat foods, or you haven’t had blood work done for a while – man or woman – REMEMBER, clogged arteries don’t always show you the path your body is taking. Clogged arteries can kill you.

Please – be body aware and check up on yourself and your REAL health. You only have one place to live…and that’s your body!

My heart is with those who suffer such unexpected loss – all those who leave children and mates – God bless them all.

Aside from death- heat stress causes a rise in body temperature and heart rate, loss of concentration and difficulty in focusing on a task, irritability and/or sickness, little or no desire to drink anything, fainting – and then of course death! Heat is nothing to fool around with as it takes many lives each year.

If someone obviously has one or more of these symptoms it’s possibly heat stroke: call for help and then get the person to a shady or cool place. If you can soak the victim’s clothing with cool water and fan him or her vigorously to increase cooling.

Heat exhaustion results from not drinking enough replacement fluids. It can cause weakness, fatigue, giddiness, nausea, or headache. The skin is clammy and moist while body temperaature is slightly elevated. Get the victim to a cool place and let him or her rest and have a drink of water or an electrolyte solution such as Gatorade. That restores potassium and salt. In severe cases the victim may vomit or pass out. Call for help – don’t be afraid it’s “not serious enough”. It could be a matter of life!

Heat cramps are painful spasms of the muscles and are caused by loss of salt in the body. Get the victim to drink Gtorade or anything that is an electrolyte solution. Seek medical attention in the case of severe cramping.

Heat can cause you to faint! Don’t know if you knew it or not, but when I had a severe muscle spasm in my back (cause unknown) – I fainted – and I broke my leg! Be careful and prevent any heat related problems BEFORE they happen. If someone faints try to get the victim on they back. When consciousness is regained the victim should recover after a brief period of walking around slowly.

A heat rash can be extensive and can be complicated by infection. Heat rash can be so uncomfortable that sleep is disrupted. It can even impede performance of any task and can result in a temporary total disability. If someone has heat rash, place the victim in a cool place and allow the skin to dry.

BE SURE TO WEAR SUNSCREEN. YOU NEED TO PROTECT YOUR BODY, THE BODIES OF YOUR KIDS, YOUR GRANDMA’S FRAGILE BODY. EVEN IF ONLY IN THE SUN FOR A BRIEF PERIOD OF TIME PLEASE PROTECT YOURSELF. ALWAYS TRY TO TAKE WATER (IN A SMALL ICE CHEST IT CAN STAY COOL).

BE SAFE. HAVE FUN AND GOD BLESS!

Many deaths occur in heat waves. More people succumb to heat than you may realize. More than all other weather related problems.
Make sure you wear sunscreen (will keep your skin healthy and protect from skin cancer – less wrinkles too)!

Keep ool potable water with you at all times. Those working in the heat need to drink 3-4 glasses of water per hour. Not ice water as that can be a negative shock to the body – and not tons of water – just the amount I mentioned above. Find shade if you feel light-heated or ill. The direct sun can add as much as 15 degrees to the heat index.

Don’t forget, if you haven’t been out working in the heat for a while, due to illness or injury, your body needs to adjust to it again. It will honestly take a period of 4-10 days to work up to working full time in the sun again. When you do work in the heat take frequent rest breaks as this reduces the internal heat and provides time for the body to cool.

DON’T FORGET the elderly, the children and your pets! Heat kills!

To all you guys who take this urgent and important job – CONGRATULATIONS : You are molding human beings who will someday be responsible for life changing, and world changing events!

YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB! Everyone gets impatient, tired, and makes mistakes!
We are all human, and this is the toughest job you will ever have in your life….and the most important!

GOOD on you and GOD on you! THANKS FOR STICKING TO IT!!!! Your reward is ENJOYING them as they grow, and seeing them in the future. Have a wonderful day!

…….take advantage of the moments you have in your life. Really, for all the planning and dreams, you are living your dream IF YOU MAKE IT SO! No matter what is happening, stressful or not, you are in charge of how you respond and the choices you make!

Yesterday I saw an unbelievable woman at the grocery store yesterday. As I started across the street to the store I saw an elderly woman who was totally bent with her face looking at the road. She couldn’t look a head nor to the sides. With cane in hand she began the long walk across the street.

I wanted to do something. Suddenly I felt protective of her and started walking slower. I wanted to see her safely to the store. I hesitated to ask if she needed help because she was okay and keeping her freedom in the ability to do it herself. Together, she slowly, and I quietly, made our way across the road.

She made it and I sighed a breath of relief. My immediate thoughts fast-forwarded to the moment and I realized how grateful I should be for what I have this moment. Fleeting they are.

Earlier I went to physical therapy for my wrist. It’s still very painful but yesterday I went several hours with little pain. :)

When I came to a big mess of traffic and road construction I saw a little old lady, and I mean LITTLE and VERY OLD! She was so skinny and her white thick hair fell in curls to her shoulder. She rode right along with traffic then headed across the street to the construction area. There she enjoyed the downhill slope and her speed increased. She maneuvered and wiggled her way to a point of less traffic and no construction.

Again I sighed a breath of relief for her safety. It made me realize that even when we get very old we still have the choice of what we will do and the state of our minds. She needed to (or wanted to) ride that bike exactly where she was. She did it. If I’d seen her in a market I would NEVER have believed it.\

Take a lesson from these wise women who forge ahead no matter what the circumstance. We are young and healthy. Get to it, and smile and laugh often.

Cuddle today. A child, a grandma, a partner, anyone you can! It’s healing for you both. If you don’t have anyone to cuddle catch the hug I am sending via cyberspace, and hug yourself!

CREATE a wonderful day!

OVER 80% of medical visits originate from stress induced reactions upon the human body! Stress changes chemical combinations within us and drives us to the “fight or flight” stage, which in turn accelerates wear and tear on the organs, muscles and all the inner workings of the body. It also plays havoc with our minds, and can literally be debilitating!

This culture is the instant gratification culture. We want what we want, and we want it now! In learning to TRULY change your life, and MANAGE any stress, you must dedicate time to practice techniques, and be consistent. Does that sound so very difficult?

Herein lies the problem. This culture has us going so many directions at once, and believing the list of duties MUST be completed, that we are driving ourselves mad!

Each day has 1,440 minutes in it….that is 525,600 minutes in one average year. Ten
minutes a day devoted to stress management education and practice still leaves you
1,430 minutes a day….and 521,950 minutes a year to devote to all these other tasks you deem important enough to leave you frazzled, irritated, and less than feeling wonderful! Come on now, that doesn’t make sense.

Here is the choice: 1. Watch your stress levels keep rising with no resolve in sight. Prime your body for a heart attack and your life for constant turmoil. 2. Love yourself and your family enough to take 10 minutes a day to CHANGE YOUR LIFE and the lives of those around you.

I think the second choice is worth 10 minutes of consistent practice on managing stress. You WILL FIND YOU LIKE IT! You WILL FIND YOU WILL INCREASE YOUR practice time as you get “in the habit”. We are creatures of habit and we can develop habits easily. Why not a pittance in time to develop a life style that will enhance your mind and the health of your body simultaneously?

Whether you try my CD or someone else’s CD , in my heart of hearts I WANT YOUR LIFE TO BE BETTER FOR ALL CONCERNED! Of course I believe you should pay a one time fee for the CD and let me help you create new brain cells, and be rid of negative thoughts and actions. I charge much more than that for 1 hour of personal training. I personally selected the original music, and put 3 relaxations on the CD – for “newcomers” and for those familiar with it all. Over 30 years I have seen people change their demeanor to an empowered and calm personality – miracles can happen.

Please go to my new website to check it out. I have a couple of samples of the CD you can listen to, a couple of articles and my complete biography.

My husband calls me “The human happy face” – I practice what I teach :) and I want this joy and empowerment to be YOURS! I TRULY CARE! FYI, I will only advertise on this blog according to my subject matter, and NOT often!

It is late and I want to tell you that I love you. Not in the sense of the world, but the sense of my heart. We are here to love one another. That means sacrifice. Mama told me for sure – “If you love you have to sacrifice.”

I say I do, but I know nothing about real sacrifice. I’ve been through personal phases of growth in this garden of earth, but I have not be sacrificed as so many innocent spirits have….humbly I thank God for watching over me in all my folly.

Be stealth in the respose you choose. Be steadfast in not stepping on the knowledge you manifest this moment….and the next.

I am writing from heaven’s gate and the place that culminates in all my flights and the paths with a bound destination; bound to expand as God gives us the freedom to do so.
